There is a house on the way to work that has a yard full of pears. I stopped one day and picked a bag full.
Recipe
1 -1/2 Gallon of White Rum
1 large bottle of cherry brandy
8 cinnamon sticks
2 tb cloves
2 c. sugar
24 pears
core and peel pears, then halve them
put in glass container
layer with sugar and cover with rum and brandy
let steep 6 weeks
this will be wonderful by Halloween.
