When I lived in Guam a local friend warned me against letting people pick peppers from my Boonie Pepper Plant. She said that Chamorro's believe some people have evil hands and if they touch your plant they will kill it. Sure enough my plant died. I recall this , as here lately I have lost another Boonie pepper to evil hands.

Another plant story from Guam is I had a dinner guest who would always bring a plant to a home he was invited to on the first visit. On subsequent visits he would check the progress of the plant. He said if the plant flourished he knew the home was full of love, if it did not than he knew no love was there and it would wither and die.
